la marzocco joins question coffee at AFCA 2019

February 14, 2019 in International

AFCA was an exciting exhibit showcasing quality coffee in one of the biggest producing countries in the world. La Marzocco was a sponsor in the African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA) Barista Competition which took place February 12th and 13th at their 17th annual conference and exhibition in Kigali, Rwanda. AFCA is a regional nonprofit, nonpolitical member-driven association representing coffee sectors in 12 countries.

La Marzocco teamed up again this year with partner Question Coffee, who helps fund farmer training; improving the livelihoods of the small local cooperatives which produce coffee. Question Coffee showcased their coffees on a range of La Marzocco espresso machines, including a dedicated Linea Mini corner for home barista enthusiasts and another spotlight on the legendary Linea Classic, the “workhouse” machine that has the test of time.
Sales and Technical Training was provided at the event, giving a chance for the community to learn how to maintain and service machines. Exhibitors such as the Rwanda Trading Company, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries supported by the Women Grown Specialty Coffee showcased blends on a GS3 and Linea Mini. Concluding another AFCA event with the aim of exploring and promoting culture, excellence, and innovation in the coffee field.
