It is no secret that the material used in the construction of a coffee machine is becoming always more important in the choice of the equipment. In this direction, there was a nationwide inspection of Israeli coffee houses and the quality and cleanliness of the product that these – and its machines – generate… which the La Marzocco team would like to acknowledge:
Israeli television recently broadcasted news on the uniqueness of La Marzocco’s, as they are made of stainless steel which significantly reduces the amount of lead accumulated within the coffee machine and transferred onto the produced coffee, in comparison to the other models inspected. It turned out that from Israel’s most widely used machines, 6 out of 7 resulted to contain too-much-lead in the extracted coffee.
While there’s lead in coffee, it makes up a very small, almost non-harmful, amount. Nonetheless, it is good to keep a track of the amount of lead, without spreading public worry about consuming coffee…
So the question is: where can lead be found or hidden within the coffee machine?
… In any spot where there is iron, the material can wear out and deteriorate into lead which than stays in the machine.
La Marzocco machine parts are made of stainless steel and certified: this means its components almost completely neutralize the creation of lead inside the machine.
When served with a La Marzocco machine, Joe Gourmet Coffee beverages are lead-free, containing less than 10% the limit approved by the national health ministry.
