La Marzocco, in collaboration with Oatly and local reseller COFFEEIN, was thrilled to host KB90 roadshow in Beijing on August 12, 2019. Over 60 local coffee lovers and professionals arrived to learn about the KB90.
Representatives from both brands were scheduled to give presentations before players got onstage. 3 rounds of a fast-paced latte art competition on a 2-group KB90 with oat milk took 3 players to the final.
The latte artworks were carefully examined by the honored judges, Pan Zhimin , manager of Single Origin Espresso and 2017 WBC champion in China, Liu Qiang, founder of SanShiErLi Bakery Academy, second runner-up for 2019 WBC and champion in China, Wang Xiaoman, QC of Blufish and 2018 China Barista Championship WST Runner-up, Chen Yifeng, Oatly China chief barista.
For the final round, the judging panel was extended to include representatives from Oatly, La Marzocco and local media, picking out the runner-up and the second runner-up.
To add more fun to the night, the WBC champions were challenged to produce the brand emblems of La Marzocco (the lion) and Oatly (the monster). The end results were impressive and were received with loud cheers from the audience. In addition, the top 3 baristas were also challenged to pour latte art with pitaya, watermelon and papaya peels serving as cups. Cheers to the winners!
Our gratitude goes to Lizao and WanguoLaiChao for sponsoring the nice craft beers and German Bistro Lounge for providing the yummy snacks.
